The surf has been dismal in SoCal this summer so far (we had some fun south swells in May). So finally we had a little 3-5′ swell to light up reefs and points south of the border.
So the boys and I headed down to northern Baja to catch a few waves with our surfing exchange student Eneko, who is Basque. Let’s just say he thoroughly enjoyed his first trip to Mexico.

Hey Serge, I surfed Mushrooms on Sunday. Was really good as well. Only 2 other guys out. A few 20 minute lulls, but solid 4-5 foot. Nowhere else was breaking. Too much wind.
The boys surfed there saturday afternoon and I caught a few waves at Calafia–but it wasn’t big enough there to make it work well. I haven’t surfed that spot in like 30 years…
